A survey by Healy and Baker says that the best places to locate a business are very close to an International airport. This is because of such things as easy access to international suppliers, customers and markets, and easy access to air freight facilities.
City Of Birmingham Council
Birmingham Council is the biggest council in the country. There are nearly 60,000 employees working for the council, looking after about one million inhabitants, which means the scope for jobs in Birmingham with the council is huge. There are over 150,000 school pupils and every year more than 16 million school dinners are made. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The city of Birmingham is also responsible for a number of other things such as refuse collection, community care, running leisure centres, and maintaining more than 2000 km of roads (and let's not forget spaghetti Junction!).
Cadbury
Cadbury, world famous chocolate and confectionery maker, is based in Birmingham, in particular the areas of Cadbury and Bournville. Worldwide, Cadbury employs over 50,000 people and a significant number of them work in Birmingham.
